Position Summary
The Accountant should have 2-5 years of experience working with the general ledger and financial statements with a degree in Accounting. They should have experience with the full accounting cycle in all areas of accounting including, but not limited to Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and General Ledger. The Accountant must have experience with fully integrated accounting software and be willing to do detail oriented and hands-on work. They must be organized and have the ability to handle a high volume of work while meeting all deadlines and maintaining a high degree of accuracy without constant supervision. The Accountant reports directly to the Manager of Financial Operations.
After the completion of training, this role will have the flexibility of working a hybrid (in office & remote) schedule.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Various responsibilities within Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
  • Book HSA and FSA activity.
  • Oversee balance sheet reconciliation process and ensure all accounts are reconciled accurately and in a timely manner, in coordination with the General Ledger team.
  • AMEX reconciliation.
  • Monthly imports (Pacer, Westlaw, FedEx).
  • Complete ACH request for new vendors.
  • New vendor set-up.
  • Daily audit requests.
  • Develop and document accounting processes and policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Assist with year-end audit.
  • Special projects as assigned.

  • Knowledge of standard business processes and business operations.
  • Knowledge of accounting applications and full accounting cycle.
  • Highly self-motivated, self-directed and attentive to detail.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute task in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to handle a high volume of work, while maintaining accuracy.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

  • Customer Service: Respond promptly to attorney and staff requests for service and assistance; meet commitments.
  • Professionalism: Approach others in a tactful manner; treat others with respect; react well under pressure.
  • Team Work: Contribute to building a positive team spirit; support everyone's efforts to succeed.
  • Technical Skills: Possess PC skills; ability to use: MS Office with intermediate to advanced skills in Excel; and a working knowledge of fully integrated accounting systems. Aderant experience is preferred.
