Quality & Continuous Improvement Manager
Odessa

Quality & Continuous Improvement Manager needed for growing manufacturer in the Tampa area. The Quality & Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for ensuring that all external and internal requirements and standards are in full compliance before products reach customers.  This role is primarily responsible for assuring consistent quality of producing and developing and enforcing quality procedures that meet business and customer expectations. This position is also responsible for the development, facilitation and over-sight of continuous improvement activities. Work closely with operations, support, administration, and engineering to oversee the annual lean transformation plan for each functional area in line with lean deployment procedures, regulatory framework, and Quality Management System.  Must be a positive change agent, willing to have hands on involvement, and understand how to create and grow a continuous improvement culture.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in engineering, business administration or relevant field required. MBA or MS preferred
  • 5+ years in quality or continuous improvement in an ISO13485 or FDA compliant environment
  • Demonstrated analytical/statistical knowledge
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality control procedures and standards
  • Quality Certification strongly preferred; Lean certification preferred
  • Excellence organizational and leadership abilities

Responsibilities

  • Accomplishes quality assurance human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Achieves quality assurance operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; identifying and resolving problems; completing audits; determining system improvements; implementing change. 
  • Will serve as the quality management representative and will complete all duties as required by the Quality Management System.
  • Develops quality assurance plans by conducting hazard analyses; identifying critical control points and preventive measures; establishing critical limits, monitoring procedures, corrective actions, and verification procedures; monitoring inventories.
  • Develops and implements uniform standards and reporting processes for Continuous Improvement activities across the business. 
  • Works closely with functional teams to track progress and results; provides roll-up of results to ensure that financial impact is realized.
  • Provide strategic leadership in the identification, development, and execution of continuous improvement plans.
  • Works with department managers to generate and maintain current / future state value stream maps.
  • Contributes to Company scorecard review process and participates in facility stand-ups to deliver clear updates on lean activities and the quantifiable benefits they have delivered to the business.
